A
safety certificate may be obtained by completing
the New York Boating Safety Course, sponsored by
the Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic
Preservation. The course is designed as a
comprehensive boating course, teaching the
fundamentals of safe boating operation.
This 8-hour
certificate class is most valuable in teaching boaters
the proper safety and operating techniques when piloting
your watercraft on the water. Throughout your classroom
training, you will cover a large quantity of material
which you will be tested on at the end of the course, in
a closed-book 50 question exam. You must
receive a 75% or greater to pass this course.
