The New York Safe Boating and Jet Ski Certificate Course

A safety certificate may be obtained by completing the New York Boating Safety Course, sponsored by the Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation. The course is designed as a comprehensive boating course, teaching the fundamentals of safe boating operation.

This 8-hour certificate class is most valuable in teaching boaters the proper safety and operating techniques when piloting your watercraft on the water. Throughout your classroom training, you will cover a large quantity of material which you will be tested on at the end of the course, in a closed-book 50 question exam.  You must receive a 75% or greater to pass this course.

Empire Boating Safety will be requesting some basic information to register you for the course.  This information is limited to your full legal name, complete address, date of birth, gender, eye color, email address and telephone number.  This information will be kept confidential at all times and will not be shared with anyone other than the New York State Parks & Recreation Department.

Online Payments:
You have the option of paying for your course online, via our Pricing/Registration page.  To protect the privacy of your credit/debit card information, we ask that you pay us using Paypal.  This is a secure site in which you can wire us money without revealing your credit card information to us directly. 

Classroom Scheduling:
Our classroom sessions are listed on our site as well as the New York State Parks & Recreation website.  Our schedule is posted as an intended session, however we are required by the state to have a minimum of 6 students to host a course.  If we do not meet this minimum we will cancel and accommodate these students with another class, at another date and time.

Rescheduling:
If a student needs to reschedule a class they are registered for, they must notify us a minimum of 24 hours in advance of their already scheduled class.  They will have the option to complete the course up to 1 year of their original registration.

Sales/Refunds:
There are no refunds issued for this course; all sales are final.  Once you have successfully registered and paid for the course, we do not offer refunds.  As noted above, the student will be accommodated in a class up to 1 year of their original registration.
